KCR’s 500 Crore Target Blocked with Staff Shortage

Telangana government has taken up the Land Regularization Scheme in November last year in the run up to GHMC elections. But then the Plot owners who applied for the Layout Regularisation Scheme in HMDA limits are still waiting for the response of the officials even after a year. Completing this process is extremely crucial to clear various encroachments in the city.

But then Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority is nowhere near to the target. The authority had received 1.31 lakh LRS applications. But then HMDA has only 30 staff members to process a large number of applications. Another 30 personnel have been drafted for the work.

These 60 members can not even process even 15 applications per day since they have to visit all the areas where the applications have come from and cross check the records there. The government is expecting 500 Crore from the scheme but the amount has got struck since the process can not be completed before August next year.
