KCR’s Entry Tax to benefit China!

Trucks owners in Andhra Pradesh had decided to suspend their operations protesting the Telangana government’s move to impose Entry Tax for all AP vehicles coming to Telangana. This sudden shut down had led to the shortage of cement in the market of AP. Cement Bag is currently costing 365 in Retail Market and is expected to increase steeply due to this tax.

As a result, in order to avoid the increase of input costs of the projects, The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) is planning to import cement from abroad, China in particular. they are of the opinion that Cement imported from China will cost less and also will have superior quality.

Most importantly, the input cost will reduce considerably. However such move will impact the local cement industries in Telangana very much. CREDAI’s Vijayawada chaptet had taken up the matter with the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao. The Chief Secretary has promised to convene a meeting with manufacturers and builders shortly.
