KCR’s snatch & give policy on holiday!

In the cabinet meeting scheduled on Friday, the Telangana cabinet approved the decision of CM KCR to declare 1st January, the new year’s day as a public holiday in the state. In this regard G.O.Rt.No.1390 dated 19.12.2014 was released declaring 1.1.2015 as public holiday for government servants instead of optional holiday as it used to be earlier.

In lieu of 1st January public holiday, second Saturday of February 2015, 14.2.2015 will be a working day. Having a public holiday on new year’s day is something to rejoice for the government servants. But making second Saturday a working day isn’t going smooth with the employees. As February is one month when they have only one public holiday i.e., on Maha Shivaratri.

And hence sacrifising the only holiday (other than Sundays) second Saturday, would make the whole month tiresome for the government employees because they don’t have weekend holidays like in private sector every Saturday alongwith Sunday. It’s like giving with one hand and snatching away with another. Intelligent indeed!
