
Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu and the Capital Region Development Authority held the 51st CRDA meeting in Amaravati on Monday. Several important decisions were taken and approvals passed to ensure timely completion of the capital city with world-class facilities and smooth execution of projects.
Special vehicle approvals were cleared for the international airport and other major projects. Land worth Rs 100 crore was allocated to SRM and VIT for medical, dental, and paramedical colleges. The Authority also sanctioned Rs 904 crore for infrastructure development in Amaravati villages.
Funds were allocated for key civic works, including Rs 64.35 crore for drinking water and Rs 110 crore for sewerage facilities. Road development received Rs 339.04 crore, while Rs 12.25 crore was set aside for street lights along with seven-year operations and maintenance.
A major decision was taken to remove the term assigned lands for returnable plots. Additional allocations included Rs 411 crore for water purification plants under package one, and Rs 376 crore for water supply under package two, covering essential capital region needs.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister condemned the rumours about Amaravati being submerged and the false claims regarding flooding at the Iconic Towers. He stressed that such misinformation must not distract people from the ongoing progress in the capital city.
