Kia Politics in Andhra Pradesh

Kia Motors Plant in Anantapur is the Single Biggest Foreign Direct Investment for Andhra Pradesh post the State Bifurcation. It is also the biggest achievement of Chandrababu Naidu in this term. YSR Congress has opposed this Project tooth and nail since the start but could not stop it from the rolling out the first trial car already.

After doing everything to stop it, Jagan now changed track and is attributing Kia Motors to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Lobbying with South Korea. This is a stunning claim because the Prime Minister who is in Kurnool earlier this week made several claims but did not say Kia Motors came to AP because of him.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu lambasted Jagan for this claim and revealed that the Prime Minister’s Office tried its level best to grab the Project to Gujarat when Andhra Pradesh is closing the deal. Naidu also mentioned how he had a real tough time to convince the Kia Management against the Powerful Lobby of the PMO.

As a result, the State Government had to shell some extra incentives. The company will be making a whopping 10000 Crore investment and will provide 10000 Employment Opportunities. Chandrababu Naidu brought the project to the Parched region of Rayalaseema to improve the employment opportunities there and ensure all-round development there.
