Kodela Siva Prasad Rao to be AP Speaker

Telugu Desam Party Senior leadera and Sattenapalli MLA, Kodela Siva Prasad Rao will be the first speaker of the new Andhra Pradesh state Assembly. Amid huge competition from party seniors like Kaluva Srinivasulu, Dhulipalla Narendra, Kala Venkat Rao, Kodela who was close to Chandra Babu is chosen for the role. Kodela earlier worked as Health minister and Home Minister in NTR and Chandra Babu’s earlier cabinets.

Kodela has won 5 times as MLA from Narasaraopeta constituency. He has the experience of working more time as Minister in TDP regime more than any other leader.The notification for electing speaker was issued a short while ago and the nominations time will end by 5 PM. Kodela will be filing his nomination for the speaker post in a short while. He will be most probably elected unopposed. The election for speaker will take place tomorrow after the Governor’s address.
