“Shut up or I Will Rape You”

In a terrifying incident that happened in Kolkata, a cab driver threatened a 27 year old woman sitting inside with kidnapping and rape. The woman had booked the cab along with a friend but when the friend got down ahead of her, the driver started speeding up and taking unneeded turns.

When the alarmed woman raised her voice after the driver even went past the area where she was supposed to get off, he flew into rage and shouted- “Shut up! I will kidnap and rape you.” The woman made a brave decision and jumped off the moving car, however the road was deserted and the driver reversed and even tried to run her over.

After getting to safety, the woman had filed a complaint with the cab company and even the police station and the 28-year-old suspect, Santu Parmanik, has been arrested and charged with molestation and criminal intimidation.
