BRS working president distributed 5000 KCR kids on the occassion of his birthday. As a part of his ‘Gift a Smile’ initiative, KTR distributed the kits that help the new mothers after delivery.
The BRS alleges that the present Revanth Reddy government stopped distributing the kits due to vengeance.
KCR Kits were quite a hit with citizens of Telangana as they provided a huge initiative for pregnant women to go to government hospitals for delivery.
There was a time when people felt ‘nenu ranu biddo sarkari davakhanaku’. But with KCR Kits, the number of women opting delivery at government hospitals increased. Pregnant could use the scheme for two deliveries.
So what exactly do KCR Kits have? The kit meant for new mothers includes clothes, baby soaps, baby oils, baby powder, mosquito nets, sarees, toys, napkins and diapers and other items. In all, they contain 16 items. The kit cost the then BRS government Rs 15,000.
The kits are sufficient for three months. The idea is to keep new born babies warm and hygienic. The kits are aimed at reducing infant mortality.
