KTR Realized The Damage At The Last Minute

Telangana Municipal Minister K Taraka Ramarao is always very vocal about the Real Estate hike that took place under their regime after 2014. We have seen him trying to scare people saying that land prices will plummet if Congress is voted to Power in Telangana.

But their political experts who also felt these statements may backfire as the real estate appreciation made it impossible to buy a house or flat for the middle-class.

The rents also increased exorbitantly due to this Real Estate appreciation. KTR may have realised the damage but little too late.

Today, the Minister announced a scheme for the middle-class that would bring Interest Subvention for House Loans of 1,200 – 1,500 Square Feet. This is akin to Central Government‘s Housing Scheme for the middle-class.

The initial response for this scheme is not on expected lines. People are saying it would be better if the Government do not resort to artificial inflating of the Real Estate than giving these unnecessary sops.

Some people say this last-minute announcement is nothing but desperation on the part of the BRS. If the same opinion goes into the people, we may see this scheme do more bad than good.
