KTR’s political growth plan cut short by center’s decision

KT Rama Rao, son of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao became very active in the party and government post the elections. It is evident that he is making himself prominent in the state politice eyeing the throne after his father.

KTR wanted to include Karimnagar in the list of smart cities to be developed by the center. He was keen on Karimnagar’s inclusion as the district is home to his Siricilla assembly constituency. However Karimnagar did not meet the criteria prescribed by the Union Urban development ministry and was not selected.

However it is said that Telangana government had given more preference to Hyderabad and Warangal. Hyderabad for GHMC elections while Warangal for the upcoming by-elections. While Telangana got two smart cities, neighbouring Telugu State AP has got three – Vishakapatnam, Tirupati and Kakinada.
