KVP Comes As a Blessing in Disguise for Chandrababu!

Rajya Sabha MP KVP Ramachandra Rao filed a PIL in Hyderabad contending that the Center is trying to abdicate responsibility for the Polavaram project and sought a direction to see that the entire expenditure is borne by Delhi.

KVP argued that Center cannot say it will only fund the project up to the prevailing rates of 2014 and should bear all the expenses until the project is completed. He also sought an interim direction for release of 3800 crores, AP Government spent so far towards expenses already incurred by it for the construction of the project.

Even though it is filed by a rival party MP, it should come as a blessing in disguise for Chandrababu Naidu government to take on the ruly Narendra Modi Government. Being an alliance partner and with the fear of Modi-Shah making things even tough for the state, Naidu is going soft on the Center until now.

He may use this opportunity to have the favorable instructions from the court via KVP’s PIL. All that the government is to shred the ego and help KVP indirectly if needed in the court. The case is likely to be listed for hearing on Tuesday.
