Land losing farmers desperately waiting for CBN

The farmers who are going to lose their lands for AP capital are a worried lot about the Land Pooling proposal proposed by Andhra Pradesh Government. While the farmers are anticipating a bigger share of developed land in the lieu of their lost lands, the government has offered 1000 sq yards per acre to farmers which will only amount to 20% of the losing lands.

The farmers claim this an unfair deal and are in confused state regarding what to do next. They also have the fear of Land Acquisition running behind their minds in case if they turn down the government’s offer. On the other side, government justifies its position saying that 50% of every acre will go for the development of community spaces, roads, drains and convention centers. Of the remaining 2400 sq.yard, the farmer would be given 1000 and government would keep 1400 sq.yards.

Government which is planning to carry out the development works through Public Private Partnership had to keep this 1400 sq yards to generate money from the developers. The farmers are also in doubt about the 25000 compensation they receive every year from the government. They question its possibility if a new government comes in after the 5 years. Officials or the ministers are not able to win farmers’ trust in this issue and many demand Chandrababu to directly come in to the people and clear all their doubts and also offer better deal to the land losing farmers.
