125 years plus old Congress Party is on ventilator in Seemandhra region. This region was instrumental in Congress forming the government twice at the center. With the state bifurcation issue, Seemandhra region deserted the Congress party which is already toiling hard under the pressure of many scams and corruption allegations.
The party had almost finalized the MP candidates in Telangana region but it is finding very hard to even confirm good candidates in at least five constituencies in Seemandhra region. Already senior and abled leaders found their way in to other parties. For the first time after several decades, Congress is going to field no experience candidates in almost 80% Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies. In many places, the Central wing of the party is pushing the second rung leaders to contest after guaranteeing them funding of every penny for the election. Despite these promises, they are not able to find candidates in many places. Analysts say the party is on ventilator in the region and is heading toward horrendous results.
