Living becomes costly in Vijayawada!

Ever since the state is bifurcated, Vijayawada is one of the most probable cities for the state’s next capital. Since then the reality sector of the city is bustling with activity. The land and property registrations have doubled and the income to the government through registrations have gone up by more than 90% than the estimations. Krishna district has got 245 Crores income (till August) to the government from registrations.

On the other side, life of the middle class suddenly got burdened due to the capital announcement. The rents of houses have gone almost double in Vijayawada with middle class having to spend at least 50% of their income towards rents. Unable to bear this burden, many middle class employees are shifting to the far ends of the city to save some money but again the commuting is taking a toll on them. There are demands that the government should implement the Andhra Pradesh Buildings (Lease, Rent and Eviction) Control Act to help the common man live in the city.
