Local Talent bid for Amaravati memorial

The Indian Institute of Architects, A.P. Chapter, will hold the three-day ‘Architect Expo- 2016’ in Vijayawada from July 15. The Chapter is planning to showcase the local talent in designing World class infrastructure for Amaravati. CRDA is planning to call for an international competition to design the monument marking the foundation stone laid by the Prime Minister.

Since the state government is giving priority to International Architects, The Indian Institute of Architects, AP Chapter wants to take it up as a challenge to prove that local talent is par with any other international firm in designing the structures. CRDA also agreed to take their design in to consideration if that is good.

The Expo has called to come up with the design for the monument in an area of 30 acres and as many as 30 participants including professionals and students would exhibit their designs and also miniature structures. The Indian Institute of Architects is also trying to bring the Chief Minister to the expo.
