IT Minister Nara Lokesh faced heated moments in the Legislative Council while answering questions. YSRCP leaders alleged that Lokesh had addressed YSRCP MLC Varudu Kalyani without using garu, which is considered the norm while addressing women in Andhra Pradesh politics.
Lokesh did not take the charge lightly. He became emotional and strongly countered the allegations. He said he knows the pain of women being disrespected and accused YSRCP of having no moral right to raise the issue.
Lokesh recalled how his mother, Bhuwaneswari, was insulted in the state Assembly by YSRCP members. He said the trauma left her deeply affected and that she did not recover for three months. He claimed there are recorded proofs of the incident.
He further said YSRCP lacks the moral ground to make such allegations. Lokesh emphasised that he was trained by his leader, Chandrababu Naidu, to respect women. He insisted he had addressed Varudu Kalyani as garu and challenged opponents to check the records.
