Lottery to pool in funds for Capital!

Telugu Desam Party MLA Gadde Rammohan Rao had come up with an interesting idea to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to pool in funds for the construction of the state capital. Gadde advised the Chief Minister to start a lottery which will fund the capital.

He asked to fix the ticket price at 100 Rupees, in that way the winner will win money and the others will have the satisfaction of donating 100 Rupees for the state capital. Several years ago the state government used to run ‘Bhagyalakshmi Bumper Draw’. Gadde expects this lottery to pool in 500 Crore every year.

Chief Minister reportedly asked the officials to look in to the possibilities in this option.Cash strapped Andhra Pradesh is struggling to pool in funds for the state capital. With very meager help from the central government, the state government is planning to rely on Public Private Partnership models and help from Overseas Development Agencies for funding the capital funds.
