Andhra Pradesh Government has got Special Courts Act, 2016 to confiscate properties of public servants booked under the section 13(1) (e) of Prevention of Corruption Act. At one stage, the Finance Minister, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu announced that the government will invoke the act to confiscate the properties of Jagan.

But then, experts say it is not possible as it can be used only when disproportionate asset cases booked under Section 13(1) of Prevention of Corruption Act. But then, Jagan’s cases are under Section 9 of the Same act and Jagan is also not a Public Servant.

Even the Public Servants like IAS Officers booked in Jagan’s Cases are under Section 9 of the act and that will mean the Special Courts Act brought up by Chandrababu Naidu government does not apply to them as well. Lucky Escape for Jagan from Chandrababu Government!
