Madhavi Reddy is Scaring YSRCP in Kadapa

While there is a prevailing sentiment of anti-incumbency against YSRCP, Kadapa district stands as a stronghold for the party.

Deputy CM Anjad Basha, who has won two consecutive terms from Kadapa, is facing significant opposition both within YSRCP and among the public.

Kadapa corporators, who once supported YSRCP due to their admiration for the YS family, have defected to other parties, particularly TDP, citing dissatisfaction with Deputy CM Anjad Basha.

The constituency, historically held by Congress and later YSRCP during the YS family’s reign, witnessed a shift in 2004 when TDP’s influence diminished. Reddappagari Srinivasulu Reddy’s wife, Reddappagari Madhavi Reddy, assuming leadership in TDP has transformed the political landscape in Kadapa.

She has garnered significant popularity, especially among women from minority communities, effectively challenging the dominance of YSRCP. Madhavi’s strong leadership has resonated with the electorate, demonstrating that with effective leadership, TDP can make inroads even in traditionally strong YSRCP constituencies.
