Mainampally’s friendship with TDP to help TRS

Mynampally Hanumantha Rao was once trusted lieutanant of Chandrababu Naidu. Disappointed with the party over ticket, he shifted to TRS and contested for Malakajgiri Parliament. He lost the election bitterly. However Mynampally always maintained good relation with KTR and was made GHMC President of the party.

Now the ruling party is planning to make him TRS’ Mayor candidate for GHMC elections. The party hopes that his acquaintance with TDP cadre in the region will also work in favour of the party. However one more last minute TDP Jumping Japangs will definitely not impress TRS leaders who strove for the party and Telangana movement from the start.

The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti is traditionally very weak in GHMC area, the government is trying to delay the elections as much as possible. If TRS manages to get the Mayor seat, it will be the biggest victory of KCR till date. According to the court order, the election should be held before December this year.
