Major Caste realignment in Telugu States!

Caste plays a crucial role in Telugu States. Reddys and Kammas dominated Telugu Politics for decades. Now that the state is divided and with that there is a caste realignment as well. Kammas who shouldered TDP in Telangana are moving towards TRS. It all started with Tummala Nageshwara Rao.

And now all the prominent Kamma leaders except a very few are in the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti. Things are also similar in Andhra Pradesh. Reddys are with Congress for decades but do not see future in the party post YSR’s death and the bifurcation. After rallying with Jagan Mohan Reddy in the last elections, even they seem to have changed their mind.

Some how, the Reddy leaders are feeling uncomfortable working under Jagan and are joining Telugu Desam Party now. Like never before in the past, Reddy Leaders are supporting TDP for the first time. Only time will answer if this political realignment is temporary or permanent which will change the face of Telugu politics.
