Medha Patkar to lead anti-capital agitation in AP

Famous social activist Medha Patkar and environmental activist Vandana Shiva will be coming to Tullur Mandal of Guntur district on 11th of this month. Both of them are known to be ardent opposers of globalization and are leading several agitations across the country. Both of them will be staging a protest against Andhra Pradesh government’s plan to acquire 30000 acres of land where agriculture is rampant for building the upcoming state capital.

They will be coming to Tullur by the invitation of Krishna Delta Parirakshana Samiti. It is known that majority villages will go for first phase land pooling will fall in Tullur Mandal of Guntur district. Ground reports say that all the opposition parties are trying their level best to politicize this issue and garner some mileage.

Government is keenly eyeing the developments in these villages and is waiting for the right time to act accordingly since this is a very sensitive issue. Congress, YSRCP and Communist party leaders are already camping in those villages and trying to motivate the people against the government plans.
