Microsoft to Set Up Shop in Amaravati

Tech giant Microsoft is coming to Amaravati. It will be setting up Quantum research center in people’s capital. It will come up with a Quantum computer for the purpose.

Soon, the AP government will sign an MoU for the project. Already, IBM has inked a deal to set up 156 Q-bit Quantum computer. Officials say more companies are in line to give their services.

Incidentally, the technology used by IBM will be different from that used by Microsoft and the details are not yet clear, say officials. Quantum computers come with various technologies – super conducting, trapped ion, photonic, topological, neutral atom.

Microsoft will be given 4000 sq ft space in Quantum Valley. While Microsoft has established a 50 Q-bit computer in the US, it has chosen Amaravati to set up its research center.

Amaravati will lead in providing advanced services to foreign countries with tech giants setting up shop in AP capital. The government’s objective is to develop 90,000 sq feet in Quantum Valley in different phases. It will build an Iconic tower for IBM and IT Hardware.

While there are many players in the Quantum field, there is no clarity about which product would click. That’s the reason behind government opening doors to various companies, shares a higher official.
