Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) is all set to severe its years long relationship with Congress. The party which has 7 MLAs and 1 MP in Hyderabad is looking at an alliance with Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and play a key role in the new Telangana state. MIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi had a close meeting with TRS Leader K Taraka Rama Rao. On the other side, YSR Congress is also interested in having an alliance with MIM.
MIM and Congress have an understanding for Hyderabad Mayor Post. To severe the ties, MIM Mayor will step down to make way for Congress candidate and will not be taking the Deputy Mayor post. MIM is focusing on bagging at least 15 MLAs this time. The party also wants to shred his Muslim image and take development stand. The party is also planning to field Hindu candidates in several constituencies as an image changer.
