Mischief in Council, Walkout of YCP Members

In the Legislative Council, a discussion was held regarding the progress of medical college construction in the state. Minister Satyakumar Yadav openly accused former Chief Minister Jagan of bias in allocating funds for these projects.

According to Yadav, only the Pulivendula College received sufficient funding, while other medical colleges were left underfunded, stalling their development.

He elaborated that the National Medical Council (NMC) had not granted approval for the operation of medical colleges this year, citing inadequate infrastructure and insufficient facilities for faculty members as the primary reasons.

Yadav placed direct responsibility for these shortcomings on Jagan, asserting that despite these failures, Jagan was now trying to blame the current coalition government.

He criticized Jagan’s priorities by pointing out that, while the former CM was able to construct the Tadepalli Palace within a year, he could not ensure the completion of medical college projects that are vital for the state’s healthcare and educational advancement.

This comparison underscored what Yadav viewed as a significant mismanagement of resources and priorities during Jagan’s administration.

The remarks led to a strong reaction from the YCP members, who found the minister’s response unacceptable and chose to stage a walkout in protest.

The move highlighted deep political divisions and conflicting narratives over the handling of healthcare infrastructure development, with each side holding the other accountable for delays and insufficient progress.
