Mishap in Rajahmundry on the first day of Pushkaralu!

Godavari Pushkaralu started off with a mishap in Rajahmundry. People thronged to Rajahmundry in Lakhs to have a holy dip on the starting day of the Maha Pushkaralu. As a result, a stampede occurred at Kotagummam Pushkar ghat in Rajahmundry.

27 persons are feared killed while ten others are seriously injured. They are shifted to Rajahmundry government hospital and are being treated. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is monitoring the situation from specially arranged control room in Rajahmundry.

The incident happened as people only thronged to this particular ghat in Rajahmundry and are not going to other ghats. The Chief Minister appealed to the people to use remaining ghats so as to have a safe dip.
