MLA Lasya Accident: TG Brings New Rule

It is known that Secunderabad Cantonment MLA Lasya Nanditha sadly passed away in a fatal road accident at the Hyderabad ORR the other day. This adds to the list of road accidents involving politicians which has been on the rise of late. In the case of Lasya’s passing, it was reported that the driver was overspeeding and hit the railing of the car.

In view of the accident, the government of Telangana has taken a big decision in order to curb the incidents of politicians meeting with road accidents.

Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar made an interesting announcement today.

The minister announced that starting from now, the car drivers of VIPs, mainly politicians will have to undergo mandatory fitness tests. This isn’t a one time process. There will be regular fitness checks done by the transport department for the drivers of VIPs.

The minister asked politicians and legislators to make sure that their drivers comply with these tests and immediately remove those who fail the same. This rule comes to effect immediately.
