Modi cutting down AP’s only life line!

If the buzz in the National media is to be believed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is planning to elevate current Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan as President of India and Union Urban Development Minister, Venkaiah Naidu as the Vice President of India. This move is certainly a proud moment for the Telugu race however it will only hurt AP prospects.

Narendra Modi’s government is almost ignoring all the promises made to Andhra Pradesh and Venkaiah is the only source for lobbying right now. Even though Venkaiah could not make much of impact, he is at least liberally allocating funds from his own Urban Development Ministry.

His elevation to Vice President will cut down that too. Further Vice President should be apolitical man. Venkaiah will not be able to speak a word about Andhra Pradesh when he is in that position. If this news becomes true, AP’s only lifeline will be lost!
