Prime Minister Narendra Modi not including Pawan Kalyan in the Swachh Bharat Challenge has drawn enough scrutiny in Telugu media. Some have criticized Modi for forgetting the Jana Sena president’s help while some ridiculed that Pawan Kalyan is too small star for Modi to remember. However both the cases seem to be wrong. If we observe the list of people who Modi challenged – Mridula Sinha, Sachin Tendulkar, Baba Ramdev, Shashi Tharoor, Kamal Haasan, Priyanka Chopra, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and the team of TV serial ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma and Anil Ambani, Modi clearly missed some big names there.
Kamal was chosen ahead of Rajinikanth on whom BJP is banking to get hold of Tamil Nadu. Modi’s close corporate icon Adani was ignored and Ambani was selected. Several Bollywood big names like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan did not figure in the list while Priyanka Chopra made it. The list just seem to be a random pick of influential people across the nation and nothing to demean or belittle others. Politicizing such noble intent program is certainly a bad choice to gauge the relation of Modi and Pawan Kalyan.
