Modi saving face ahead of GHMC elections?

BJP had planned a massive public meeting in Hyderabad in the month of March to mark the end of party’s membership drive. The public meeting was planned months in advance and aimed at energizing the BJP cadre in the newest state of the country. However the meeting is suddenly cancelled with out announcing any reason.

Some people say that the public meeting was cancelled following the defeat in Delhi elections. Narendra Modi is portrayed as a failure following Delhi defeat and the BJP high command do not want such remarks for the upcoming GHMC elections as well. Despite having stronghold areas in GHMC, BJP do not have big hopes on that elections.

On the other side, some people see this as a bid to avoid confusion in the cadre. There are rumours that ruling party of Telangana, TRS is joining NDA government. Modi naturally should be speaking in favour of TRS in the meeting in case the news is true. However BJP do not want it to happen until the new friendship is officially declared. In any case, this cancellation is a huge disappointment in BJP cadre.
