In what was a milestone on social media, has ended up becoming a controversy in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. One man identified as Rajan from Kerala called Modi a “traitor” under the 10 crore message.
Incidentally, PM Modi shared that his Instagram account crossed the 10 crore mark. Under the comments section, the man called PM Modi ‘traitor’.
Surprisingly, many netizens are wondering if a similar treatment would be meted out if they call him a traitor too. Some said if we say ‘he is scared of Trump‘, will we be in jail too.
A majority of comments had an underlying anti-Modi tone to them, which is surprising. Many wondered if they were in an Emergency situation. One netizen said Modi calls other party people urban naxals. Should he also go to jail?
Till the time of Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Modi was people’s hero. From then on, things have gone downhill for Modi. Many hold it against the PM for abruptly ending Operation Sindoor, for visiting Isreal and bending down to the US for tariff cuts. Modi had agreed to stop buying Russian oil to please Trump and now the Americans are calling Indians actors for following their diktats.
This has hurt many Indians and to aggravate things further, the traitor controversy erupted at a very delicate phase of Prime Minister Modi’s term. While everybody has a right to opinion in a democracy, it has to be acknowledged that timing matters.
