Modi’s cabinet to use Amazon Kindles!

Taking a cue from Chandrababu Naidu’s government in Andhra Pradesh, Narendra Modi’s cabinet meetings will very soon go paperless. This decision is taken to cut down the usage of paper as well as to block “leakage of information” on critical issues to the media before decisions are taken on them.

The kindles loaded with cabinet Agenda will be given to the ministers and secretaries just before the meeting and they would have to hand them over back to secretariat after the meeting. Kindle was chosen as the device to serve the cabinet due to Ease of access and absolute secrecy.

There is also a provision of each minister to have a digital signature, they could also sign on the Cabinet decisions.The government’s technology arm, the National Informatics Centre (NIC) is working on them and will implement this within six months.
