Modi’s PR: Audience Welcomed Movie, Rejected Drama!

The BJP government in Karnataka had got a reputation of being a corrupt and ineffective government. This showed clearly in the election results today as BJP was wiped away and Congress was given a clear majority in the assembly elections.

Incidentally, the prime minister Modi extensively campaigned for BJP in Karnataka. He tried to use his PR strategy and communal politics to cover the bad work of BJP government in Karnataka and somehow win the election.

Strangely, he went down a few strands and even used The Kerala Story movie for the elections.

He claimed Kerala Story is a factual film and it showcases the love jihad and terrorism connections. He stated Congress is against this film because they have ties with terrorism and organisations like ISIS. This was attempt to throw mud at Congress before the Karnataka elections.

However, sadly for Modi, his campaign worked for Kerala Story as the film managed to mint gold collections, but it backfired badly in the Karnataka elections.

At the end of the day, the work done in the tenure will decide the public verdict on a party but not a narrative based on a film.

The same is clearly seen as the audience welcomed Kerala Story that was endorsed by him but rejected the drama in Karnataka election campaign.
