Moinabad Drugs Case: Did Revanth’s BRS Allegation Come True?

The Moinabad drugs case has suddenly taken a sharp political turn in Telangana. The raid conducted by the EAGLE anti narcotics team at a farmhouse in Aziznagar, Moinabad has revived an old allegation made by Revanth Reddy against BRS leaders.

Police officials confirmed that several individuals tested positive for drug consumption during the raid conducted late Saturday night. The farmhouse reportedly belongs to former MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy. Rapid tests conducted at the spot showed positive results for Rohith Reddy and several others present there.

According to EAGLE SP Giridhar, those who tested positive include Rohith Reddy, Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Yadav, along with Ritesh Reddy, Namith, Kaushik Ravi and Arjun Reddy. While the rapid test initially showed negative for Putta Mahesh Yadav, a later blood test reportedly returned positive.

What has made the episode politically explosive is the location itself.

The same farmhouse had earlier come into national focus during the alleged MLA poaching episode, where BRS leaders claimed that three BJP leaders attempted to lure their MLAs. At that time, Rohith Reddy played a key role in the operation that reportedly helped the then government expose the alleged poaching attempt.

Now, the very same farmhouse has surfaced again in connection with a drug consumption case.

This has triggered fresh political debate. Some political observers are recalling earlier allegations made by Revanth Reddy when he was in the opposition, where he claimed that a senior BRS leader was addicted to drugs.

With the latest developments, the question being raised in political circles is whether those earlier allegations are now gaining new context.

The incident has also opened another political angle. Since the farmhouse earlier figured in a case involving BJP leaders, the latest drug case may once again turn into a political confrontation between parties.

With arrests and investigation now underway, Telangana politics appears set for another round of heated accusations and counter allegations in the days ahead.
