Whatsapp’s New Crazy Feature

In today’s world when new apps are arriving at a record-breaking rate, older apps have to keep updating and adding new features to keep themselves relevant. In the same spirit, WhatsApp is now working to introduce a whole new feature in its chatting platform that will allow users to transfer funds from within the app.

WhatsApp has partnered up with SBI, ICICI and HDFC to introduce this feature which will basically work as a UPI based payment system. It is expected that Whatsapp will introduce the payment system in December and India is likely to be the first country where it is implemented considering the larger user base here.

The feature itself seems to be inspired by the Chinese app WeChat which had originally introduced a payment system for its users and received resounding success. If WhatsApp also successfully introduces and implements its payment system, it is sure to become a powerful competitor in the digital payment market!
