The Mood of Tamil Nadu – Will Public Anger Sustain?

Edappadi Palaniswami who won the Trust Vote in the Tamil Nadu by hook or crook is now keen on winning the support of the people who are not happy with his elevation. Palaniswami has rolled out several sops to the people in a bid to pacify them and divert their attention.

There are reports that MLAs who have voted in favour of Palaniswami are being showered abuses with 100s of phone calls after the Trust Vote. Some of them are even afraid of going to their constituencies fearing a backlash from the people.

Amid all this, Palaniswami will fact the big litmus test by May 15th. Election Commission of India had informed the High Court that it will hold the local body elections of the state by May 15th. The results of this elections will decide the mood of the people in the state.

It is interesting to see what will be the next step of O Paneerselvam. DMK will also be fancying its chances as it is the only party which can promise stable leadership to the state and not the case of dummies or convicts like AIADMK.
