Naidu displeased over snail pace beautification

The government had directed officials to start the beautification works of Guntur, Tenali, Vijayawada and Mangalagiri. The state government had offered to fund the civic bodies of the region in order to beautify and increase the green cover.

The civic bodies were asked to prepare proposals for wide roads, dividers, greenery, beautification of canal bunds, development of canal front and clean surroundings. Already CRDA had undertaken beautification of Vijayawda by planting trees in the 21-km stretch between Gannavaram airport and Kanaka Durga Varadhi.

However CM Chandrababu Naidu rapped the officials over the progress of ongoing works. He expressed his displeasure over the sanitary facilities. The plantation of trees, widening the roads and constructing the dividers are also going on at a snail’s pace.
