Name Change For NTR Gardens In Hyderabad

In an interesting turn of events, reports have emerged, saying the TRS government is contemplating the idea of changing the names of two of Hyderabad’s iconic parks, NTR Gardens and Lumbini Park.

As per reports, the iconic NTR Gardens could be renamed as BR Ambedkar Park. There is also the idea of naming it NTR-Ambedkar Park.

It is also heard that the HMDA plans to develop a sprawling park at NTR Gardens and install the world’s largest BR Ambedkar Statue here. A 125-feet statue of Ambedkar might be installed at the facility with an estimated construction cost of Rs 150 crores.

As for the Lumbini Park, it could be renamed Telangana Martyr’s Memorial Park and the HMDA also intends to construct a Martyr’s Memorial Musuem adjacent to the park.
