Hard To Change Social Media, Tough Lesson For Lokesh!

Social media is now a political war zone. Parties attack each other daily, run digital armies, and fight without limits. Anonymity only fuels it, giving space to morphs, abuses and character damage campaigns that keep getting uglier.

Recently, a TDP supporter shared an AI-generated video showing YS Jagan Mohan Reddy begging Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and Lokesh for Opposition Status. Lokesh responded by asking TDP supporters not to promote such content or personal attacks online.

He wrote that disagreements must stay respectful. He requested supporters to avoid insulting posts and maintain dignity in public discourse. He said constructive politics should lead the conversation, not humiliation or mockery.

Many praised Lokesh for trying to clean up digital behaviour, but the reaction did not go smoothly. Social media works on emotion, not moderation, and backlash came fast. Supporters argued that he pointed fingers only at them.

TDP supporters said they face morphs and abuse every day, including attacks on Chandrababu Naidu’s family, Lokesh’s family and Balakrishna’s family. They questioned why he demands restraint from them while remaining silent on harassment against them.

Janasena supporters added that Lokesh defended Jagan but did not raise his voice when morphs targeted Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi or Mega family members. Positive voices existed, but they were drowned by louder criticism.

The reaction shows how divided online politics has become. Many failed to see his intent and judged only through party identity. Social media once helped political outreach, but now it spreads mud faster than debate.

Parties created this environment with their digital armies and now struggle to control it. Elections have changed because of it, and young people keep landing in legal trouble over posts they do not think through.

More leaders must step forward like Lokesh if any cleanup has to begin. Change will not come overnight, but one step matters more than silence.
