Andhra Pradesh Information Technology and Human Resources Development Minister Nara Lokesh held high-level investment discussions with major corporate heads in Kolkata on Friday.
Over a business breakfast, the minister met directly with Vishal Agarwal, Managing Director of Visa Steel, Aditya Agarwal, Director of the Emami Group, and Prashanth Bangur, Vice-Chairman of Shree Cement.
The primary focus of the meeting was to showcase the state’s aggressive regulatory reforms and invite these industrial giants to establish large-scale manufacturing operations in Andhra Pradesh.
During the interaction, Nara Lokesh highlighted the state’s key geographic and structural advantages, including its extensive coastline, functional seaports, continuous power supply, and vast available land banks.
He stated that the government’s core objective is to turn Andhra Pradesh into India’s premier industrial and manufacturing powerhouse through business-friendly policies.
The minister also shared a major industrial update, noting that construction has successfully commenced on the integrated ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel plant near Anakapalli, which is set to position the state as a dominant hub for the national steel industry.
