Tesla Boss Elon Musk was supposed to visit India on April 21st and 22nd but the visit got postponed.
Speaking about it back then, Musk said “Very heavy Tesla obligations require that the visit to India be delayed, but I do very much look forward to visiting later this year”.
In March, India cut import taxes on electric vehicles (EV) for global carmakers which commit to investing $500m (£399m) and starting local production within three years.
Tesla is going to invest in India after the move. In 2021, Elon Musk cited India’s high import duties as the reason for the firm not launching its cars in the world’s fastest-growing major economy.
Some enthusiastic states already started preparations to attract Tesla.
Jagan Mohan Reddy, on expected lines, was in deep slumber over it.
Chandrababu Naidu will take oath on the 12th of this month. Nara Lokesh will also be a part of the cabinet. He did a very commendable job between 2014 and 2024 in bringing investments to the state.
His first task into impress Elon Musk with the necessary presentation, incentives, and facilities.
Lokesh should make a pitch even before Elon Musk comes to India.
Tesla is a very prestigious company and the state which gets that will be on the World Map. So the competition will be very tough.
If Andhra Pradesh manages to get it, it will be a bigger achievement than Kia Motors for Chandrababu Naidu.
Also, it will create Millions of Jobs for the Youth in Andhra.
The EV Market is a budding market in India. But it is expected to take a big surge when Tesla comes here.
