Nara Lokesh is touring his Mangalagiri constituency. Lokesh faced the first election of his political career in Mangalagiri and faced a defeat. The Nara scion did not choose an easy seat for his political debut and opted for Mangalagiri which TDP did not win since 1989.
After the 2019 defeat, everyone expected Lokesh to shift to an easy seat but he persisted in Mangalagiri and is working hard to win from there.
Lokesh started his campaign in Mangalagiri. Usually, when Big leaders campaign in a constituency, they opt for Public meetings and rallies.
But then, Lokesh is giving a personal touch to the campaign. He is visiting small colonies, Apartments, and Gated Communities and is interacting with the voters directly.
He is only meeting a group of 100-200 people at each place giving enough time for them to understand his vision and for him to understand their problems.
He is also discouraging a massive entourage of leaders and sloganeering at these meetings to keep them simple and less formal.
These smaller meetings also ensure people reach out to him directly and have a personal connection with him.
Meetings like this will create a bond between the leaders and the voters and they will be obligated to vote for him.
The poor are impressed with his simplicity and the educated are floored by the way he patiently listens and converses with them.
On the other hand, the YSR Congress is relying on caste politics to defeat Lokesh in Mangalagiri. The party had fielded Lavanya from the Weavers Community to take on Lokesh here.
In the 2019 elections, Lokesh lost by a margin of 5,337 votes. He vowed to win by the same majority by adding a zero at the end i.e., 53,370 votes.
