Special Package for AP on Vijaya Dasami

If the reports emerging from the political circles are to be believed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will announce the Special Package to Andhra Pradesh when he visits Amaravati on Vijaya Dasami day. In tomorrow’s meeting between the PM and AP CM, they are likely to discuss about the quantum of the package.

It is said that Chandrababu Naidu is stressing on a package bigger than that offered to Bihar. He is also insisting that the allocations made by 14th Finance Commission should not be included in the package as in the case of Bihar. The center is likely to agree for that and the implementation is a secondary thing. The Center is also likely to announce some more industrial incentives just like those in place for Uttarakhand.

However Modi is likely to convince Chandrababu to go soft on Special Category Status which the center think is not possible. They are likely to put the issue in backburner by saying that the issue is under Niti Aayog consideration. Chandrababu has the Prime Minister’s appointment tomorrow at 4PM in Delhi.
