Modi Scared of Social Media For The First Time!

Narendra Modi is the first politician in the country to have effectively used Social media as a political tool in his run-up to the 2014 General election. The social media campaign was and is always a strong point of the BJP setting narrative for every single day.

But then, it looks like things have changed and Modi has become scared of social media for the first time. It is revealed that the Central Government has sent a notice to Twitter to take down tweets of some popular handles.

These tweets reportedly highlighted either the missteps of the government or the miseries of people caught in the COVID Second Wave. The handles include West Bengal Minister Moloy Ghatak, actor Vineet Kumar Singh, and filmmakers Vinod Kapri and Avinash Das.

Telangana MP Revanth Reddy’s tweets were also taken down. Twitter did not make an open comment about this issue but sent a notice to the users who made those tweets, saying that the tweets were in violation of Indian laws according to the Indian government.

Twitter has also made public these details of the action it has taken on Lumendatabase.org, a website that is used by tech companies to archive government directives or DMCA takedowns.
