The ministry of consumer affairs, food and public distribution is drafting a questionnaire for hotels and restaurants to explain what dish sizes they should serve to a customer. After taking their opinions, the government is going to issue instructions about the amount of food to be served.
This instructions, however, would be applicable to “standard hotels” and not dhabas that “usually serve thalis”. Besides preventing food wastage, this policy will also prevent people being charged for something they do not eat.
