Negligence cost 1274 Crore for the state?

The Telangana government is fighting a legal battle over the recovering of 1274 Crore from the state’s RBI account towards the arrears to Income tax from the sale of liquor between 2012-2013 and 2013-2014.

Telangana government says that the move of Income Tax department is illegal and knocked the door of the court for the recovery. The IT department said that they served a notice to the state government for the payment but received no response from them.

So they have acted unilaterally recovering the amount from the RBI account. However Telangana attorney maintained that the IT department is liable for a contempt case as the recovery is in alleged violation of the court order. But IT department refuted the claims saying that the review petition of the Telangana government is not maintainable either on law or on facts.
