New Chief Secretary To Seek Revenge on Naidu?

In a shocking but not surprising development, The Election Commission of India has transferred Chief Secretary Anil Chandra Puneta and brought in LV Subrahmanyam in his Place. LV Subrahmanyam is 1983 Batch IAS Officer. He is named as one of the accused in YSR’s Emaar scam. However, he was acquitted by Court for lack of evidence.

Subrahmanyam was APIIC’s vice-chairman and managing director between September 2003 and May 2005 and is accused of playing a crucial role in fixing a lower rate for the 535 acres property given to Emaar group by AP government under YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s leadership. After his acquittal, Chandrababu Naidu came to Power and for obvious reasons, he is not made the Chief Secretary despite his seniority.

There is a severe discontentment in Subrahmanyam as he is deprived of the Chief Secretary, the highest position in Government Bureaucracy. Narendra Modi ensured that his dream got fulfilled and Naidu fears that Subrahmanyam will be seeking revenge in the crucial days before the elections.

There are rumours that this appointment is to stop many schemes that were planned by Chandrababu for the last minute. However, it will be a big surprise if people could not see through this attempt to muzzle Chandrababu Naidu. If this transforms into sympathy, the worst fears of Modi about Chandrababu coming back to Power will come true.
