Both Telugu Cheif Ministers Chandrababu Naidu and KCR have assigned the job of finding new Helicopters to the Cheif Officials. KCR currently does not have a government owned Helicopter asked state authorities to find a new twin engine Helicopter. Telangana CS Rajiv Sharma is in the process of getting better quotes from the reputed companies. On the other side AP government too getting quotations for purchasing an aircraft and a helicopter for Chandrababu. Undivided Andhra Pradesh owned two helicopters back then but unfortunately both perished in mishaps.
National Insurance Company recently released 68 Cr for covering the gutted Chopper Auusta accident coverage. 68 Cr will be shared between AP and Telangana (58: 42 percent) as it was owned by United Andhra Pradesh back then.
