New districts in TS by next formation day!

Telangana government is making swift moves in carving out the new districts in the state. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao instructed the officials to complete the exercise as soon as possible such that the districts will come in to force by June 2nd, the formation day of Telangana state.

The Chief Secretary was asked to submit a report on the possibilities and difficulties in this regard. Currently Telangana has 10 districts and they are planning to create 10-15 of new districts. TRS sources say that six is the lucky number of KCR and so they are planning 24 districts which on adding gives ‘six’.

The districts creation is being made with out considering the constituencies delimitation which may create problems in future. Also creating a huge number of districts will need huge funds to create infrastructure in the each new district. According to an unofficial estimate, each new district will incur more than 100 Crores additional expenditure.
