New Railway Zone almost confirmed for AP?

The long standing demand of separate Railway Zone for the Waltair division is finally turning in to a reality with the state division. Government reportedly is thinking on the lines of making a separate Railway zone with Waltair division stretching to all the railway divisions in the new AP. Waltair division is the milch cow of East Coast Railway zone but the division is only seen as the cow but is deprived of any development.

Central Minister and Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu along with Vishakapatnam MP, Hari Babu met Union railway minister Sadananda Gowda and Railway Board chairman Arunendra Kumar and pushed them to create the separate railway zone with Vishakapatnam as head quarters. On the other side, Odisha politicians are not liking the idea of parting with the cash cow and are lobbying against the separation of Waltair division. Even Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is directly involved, Venkaiah is confident of attaining the new railway zone.
